My name is Callum Walker and I’m a semi-professional Speedway, Grasstrack and Longtrack rider. I’ve been racing for over 7 years and in that time I have had many ups and downs.
In August 2009, I had a bad accident in which I broke my shoulder and my collarbone. Unfortunately that meant that I was unable to compete for 6 to 8 weeks. My doctor advised me that I shouldn’t race again.
This was not an option for me, and I started the new season on a new bike bought for me by my grandparents. I had a good season and I was starting to challenge the best racers in the youth classes.
In 2012, I became British Youth Champion. This was the icing on the cake to top off my youth career.
Since 2014, I moved into the adults classes and I won many meetings in my first year of the adult class on a 250cc machine, including being south eastern centre champion. In 2015, I moved onto the biggest solo machine that is a 500cc. I surprised myself and have done much better than I expected in my first year of the 500s.
I have now got to the point in my Grasstrack career where I am racing riders that I looked up to as a kid, and beating some of them as well. This led me to complete my first season with the Coventry Storm in the Speedway National League, the first step up the ladder to becoming a full professional speedway rider. I’m back with them this year, and hope to progress further this year.
On my website there will be links to my fixtures for when I’m riding speedway, as well as Longtrack and grasstracks nationally and internationally. Thanks for visiting the site and I hope to see you at trackside very soon.
